GAK SepThe September 2014 issue of Guardian Angel Kids celebrates “Extraordinary Animals.” In this month’s issue, our special feature is Katrina and Winter: Partners in Courage by award-winning author Nancy Stewart.

You’ll find the poem “Tail Tales” by Ellen Javernick inside, as well as a ton of non-fiction articles about a variety of animals including bats, the Mountain Beaver, and the platypus. This month’s kid’s activity has to do with manatees.

GAKThe June 2014 issue of Guardian Angel Kids magazine is dedicated to children with special needs. In her letter to readers, Poetry Editor Donna J. Shepherd says, “…every child is worthy of acceptance and compassion.” The GAP family couldn’t agree more.

This month’s special features include the book, Sarah’s Socks – My World of Autism by Litsa Kamateros and Nia Morfonios and a Special Olympics skater video.

Demarquis Lamar Johnson shares his poem, “Super Power,” and short stories come to you from Trisha Faye, Annette McDermott, and Catherine May Webb. Guardian Angel Publishing is pleased to announce that the May 2014 issue of Guardian Angel Kids eZine is now available. This month’s theme is unusual art.

GAK, our very own Angel Gecko, reports on feather art, like what you see on the front cover of this month’s issue. Debra Mayhew shares her poem, “Patchwork Art,” and a short story titled, “Maya, the Elephant Who Loved to Paint,” comes to you from Shari L. Klase.

We also have two non-fiction articles in this issue. Trisha Faye shares about art made from salvaged and recycled steel in “Trash No More,” and Donna Marie West talks about prehistoric art in “The Oldest Art in the World.” This month’s activity is leaf art. Trisha Faye offers step-by-step instructions to teach you how to paint leaves. And be sure to check out the video of an elephant painting a self-portrait.

Spring has sprung! To celebrate, Guardian Angel Kids is exploring Flowers of the World!

GAK, our very own Angel Gecko, offers a special photographic report of some unusual looking flowers from around the world. Poet and freelance writer A.J. Huffman shares two flower poems in this issue, and fictional short stories come to you from Joyce Wold and Felicity Nisbet.

For non-fiction, we have the article, “Flowers that Grow on Volcanoes” by Sherry Alexander, and “The Legend of the ‘Cry in Your Sleep’ Flower–A Re-telling of the Legend of Tagimoucia, Fiji’s National Flower” by Sherri Alexandaer. Have you ever considered eating a flower? Trisha Faye shares an interesting and informative article titled, “Incredible Edible Petals.”

You’ll find poetry by Guy Belleranti, short stories from Trisha Faye, Felicity, Nisbet, and Christine Collier, and two special features: a special GAK report on “Colors Only Mother Nature Can Do,” and “A Rainbow of Birds,” by Janet Halfmann illustrated by Jack Foster.
