Spring has sprung! To celebrate, Guardian Angel Kids is exploring Flowers of the World!
GAK, our very own Angel Gecko, offers a special photographic report of some unusual looking flowers from around the world. Poet and freelance writer A.J. Huffman shares two flower poems in this issue, and fictional short stories come to you from Joyce Wold and Felicity Nisbet.
For non-fiction, we have the article, “Flowers that Grow on Volcanoes” by Sherry Alexander, and “The Legend of the ‘Cry in Your Sleep’ Flower–A Re-telling of the Legend of Tagimoucia, Fiji’s National Flower” by Sherri Alexandaer. Have you ever considered eating a flower? Trisha Faye shares an interesting and informative article titled, “Incredible Edible Petals.”
This month’s activity is a Flower Girls Word Puzzle. There are also links to freebies, games, and videos.

The anticipation of summer vacation can put anyone in a great mood with the excitement of adventures to be had–especially at the beach. But what is a group of friends to do when they discover mysterious men poaching whale teeth at the beach?
The lifeguards had their arms extended and attempted to move the crowd back. The tallest lifeguard said, “People, please stay back. The authorities will arrive to examine the whale to determine the cause of death within the hour. The whale must have died at sea and washed ashore.”
